Being the son of immigrant parents, Attorney Connell is a first generation American whose parents came to the U.S. from Barbados and the Dominican Republic. Connell, Sr. is admitted to practice before The United States Supreme Court, New Jersey Supreme Court, The District of Columbia Court of Appeals, United States District Court, Federal District of New Jersey and the United States Distict Courts, Eastern and Southern Disticts of New York as well as The Executive Office for Immigration Review (Immigration Courts).
Attorney Connell is a graduate of the City University School of Law In New York. He also has earned a doctoral degree in psychology and is an ordained minister with over 30 years of experience in ministry.
Mr. Connell is member of The American Immigration Lawyers Association, The New Jersey State Bar Association and is trustee of the Camden County County Bar Association of New Jersey. He is also a co-chairman of the Immigration Law Committee for the Camden County New Jersey Bar Association. He is also a member of the Christian Legal Society. As a college professor teaching at the graduate level, Mr. Connell has conducted numerous seminars and training programs addressing various immigration topics.
With over 25 years of legal experience, Joseph A. Connell, Sr. is a highly sought after professional presenter, having discussed immigration issues on television and radio programs and talk shows. He has spoken in the areas of uniting foreign national families, religious worker based immigration, employment based immigration as well as removal (deportation) defense. He has lectured at several universities on immigration law at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He has been an invited presenter at numerous seminars and conferences at large companies, churches and other religious organizations on topics of immigration regulatory compliance for employers.
